Gold and red necklace set

It's been a while since I posted in this space. I have been busy on a very special project that's taking a lot of my time, it's something big and exciting and I will share more details about it very soon in this space. Even with this busy schedule I have managed to make a few pieces of jewelry in this time,  but I  haven't had the time to actually take pictures, etc so I sometimes do not get the chance to blog about it.

Gold and brick colored Terracotta necklace set ~ Polymer clay necklace set | Bead Creationz

Here's one I made recently, with the main colors of gold and brick . I kept the design of the beads and the pendant very simple. For the matching earrings I decided to go with jhumkas/ jimkis/ Indian chandelier earrings instead of a matching miniature pendant design. Since the colors are so classic, this set really works with most kind of Indian dresses, salwars and sarees :)

Green and Rust Clay ~ Terracotta Necklace Set

These past few weeks I have been working a lot with clay and I have to admit I find it fascinating. To be able to create beads and pendants of the design and color of your choice is very exciting. But initially the thought of making an entire necklace from clay was very intimidating. Even though I was a little daunted by the thought I took it on because I wanted to try at least one.

One of the first pieces I made was in a neutral metallic gold and brick red color that I really loved. I haven't taken a picture of that piece yet, when I do will post in this space. Once that turned out well, I began getting more  enthusiastic to try more of this kind of jewelry.  This is the second necklace I made with clay, I went with a classic green and rust combination for this one. Let me know what you think of this. In the meanwhile I am off to work on some more pieces :)

Clay Earrings ~ Amethyst colored Jhumkas

Clay jewelry has always been something I admired and it has been on my list of things to try for a while now. Finally in the last few weeks I got around to trying out some basic beads and shapes with clay and have enjoyed the process so far. This jhumkas (bell shaped Indian earrings) are one of the first projects I completed with clay.

Clay Earrings ~ Clay Jhumkas

I kept the design pretty basic this time since I was just starting out with this kind of jewelry. Painted the clay a nice metallic rhinestone color and used some rhinestone to add some contrast and border. I also added a small tear drop bead to hang from the center to give it that authentic jhumka feel :)
