Multicolored crystal and carnelian beads necklace

Quite a while ago, I made a multi colored two strand necklace that I somehow never got around to posting in this space. In that necklace I used a combination of cool blues, white, lavender and other shades in the blue family of colors for the necklace. Since then I haven't attempted any other multi colored necklaces. Finally last week I made this set with multicolored crystal beads. I used a combination of light lemon yellow crystal beads, golden brown beads, olive green beads and red crystal beads.  I also added some carnelian rice beads to the design.

This is a very simple design, but it turned out well and looks very elegant.  The colors in this necklace reminded me of the hues of autumn :) This set is good to dress up anything from a casual or dressy top to a saree or any other Indian dress. Since it has a lot of colors it is easy to match this with so many dresses too.

Sandstone Necklace

Finally after quite a break from beading, I got a chance to start and finish a few necklaces recently. I have had some sandstone beads sitting in my bead box for quite a while now and I decided to make something with them. This necklace with both small and large sandstone beads is the result......

Sandstone necklace

There is something about the sandstone that I feel works very well with ethnic clothes. And in this necklace with the combination of sandstone and golden beads, it definitely works well for all kinds of Indian dresses/ sarees.

Blue metallic and teardrop beads necklace set

Sorry folks it's been a while since I posted anything in this space. It isn't that I am not making anything, it just happens that for my jewelry I am not good with taking pictures yet. Surprising isn't it? especially considering the fact that because of my other blog I almost always keep my camera handy.  Yet when it comes to taking pictures of my jewelry,  I somehow do not end up taking as many pictures as I should. Anyway I am working on taking much more pictures of my creations these days and hope to post here often. Here is a set I made recently....

Blue metallic and teardrop necklace set

I had some metallic blue beads that were sitting in my bead box for a while now and I wanted to use it in a necklace. Finally when I got some natural stone teardrop beads recently I thought of using both of these together in a necklace. I also added some red crystal beads for some contrast and used tiny gold beads and daisy spacers between each beads. Here is another picture of this necklace....

Red Teardrop earrings

It's been a long while since I have been active in this space. I know, I know, I have already mentioned this in the past. It's just that I haven't had a chance to take any pictures of any of my recent work and hence this lull in blogging :-(

Anyway this week I wanted to work with these red teardrop beads to make earrings and did not want to use any of the usual spacers and other beads in combination with it. So I decided to try something different with wire, I just shaped the wire into a fancy "S" shape and used that in place of a spacer. I loved how it turned out and this has given me lots of new ideas for other kinds of earrings :)

Green Crystal Necklace Set

After a lull when I hardly did any beading/ jewelry, finally this past week I got a chance to make something again. This time I made a simple crystal necklace set. I have been wanting to try this idea for a while now and I specifically purchased beads with this project in mind.

Green Crystal Necklace set

Its a very simple design really, just beads from a smaller size to a larger size, with some spacers in between. I followed the same theme for the earrings too, with one bead of each size with the largest bead at the bottom. I loved how it turned out, I am not sure the picture does this necklace justice, will try to get a better picture in the future :)

Multicolored Beaded Hoop Earrings

Been a while since I posted anything in this space. Not because I haven't been making anything, but because I haven't really gotten a chance to take pictures of my recent work. My bad, I know :) I am keeping my fingers crossed hoping I get more time to take pictures and post in this space in the future. :)

Multi colored beaded hoop earrings

In the meanwhile here is a multi colored beaded hoop earrings that I made on an impulse recently. I thought it would be a cool way to combine a few colors and make the earrings a little more versatile so that it can work with one colored dress:) I've used fuschia, orange red, deep red and green beads and I loved how the colors all came together in this earring :)

Teardrop pearl and jade bead necklace

Recently I purchased jade beads in a few colors that I wanted to use in necklaces. I bought some dark green jade beads and these purple jade beads. Dark green jade I used in this vintage/ ethnic kind of necklace with a pendant and gold beads. For the purple beads, I decided to combine it with some pink tear drop shaped pearl beads that have been sitting in my bead box for a while now.

I kept the design simple, did not use any pendants for this necklace. This design is quite unlike anything else I have done in the past.  It is so simple and elegant and has a very delicate feel to it that adds a touch of dressiness without seeming very overwhelming. This necklace has easily become one of my favorites :)

Red crystal necklace

Red is such a versatile color isn't it ? It just seems like everyone has at least one dress with red as a dominant color in it. In the same manner it seems to me that red crystal beads, or really just about any red beads always look beautiful. They match with a variety of beads and are great to use on their own or in combination with other colors.

This time I used red crystal in a very different kind of necklace when compared to the ones I have made in the past. This one has smaller beads on the top and larger beads hanging between the smaller beads. I have also used small copper and gold colored beads to add some slightly different shades to the necklace.

Fuschia and Purple Earrings and Bracelet set

Usually fuschia (or bright rose pink ? ) is not a color I use very often, but from time to time I find some beads that I cannot wait to use. These fuschia beads that I used in this bracelet and earring set have always been one of my favorites. They are such a cute and lovely color. Since I had some leftover from the previous project, I decided to use them up. This time in combination with some purple crystal beads that I got recently.

I thought this combination worked really well. I made a very simple combination with some small dainty daisy spacers between beads. The bracelet is a stretch kind bracelet so there is no need to fiddle with a clasp, it can be just slipped on :)

Purple teardrop crystal earrings

I had a few tear drop crystal beads leftover from an earlier project. Decided to make a pair of earrings with it. Just placed one tear drop above the other and used daisy spacers between each tear drop to add some contrast. This is how it turned out.....

Green crystal Bead Necklace

This is the second time I made a necklace with a combination of green and black beads. The first one was this one that I posted a few weeks ago.Unlike the earlier one in which I used natural green jade beads, this time I used green crystal beads, so the entire look of the necklace is very different. Also I used a black rhinestone pendant in this necklace. The result is this somewhat ethnic, more classic looking necklace that I think will be perfect with any kind of Indian dress

Fuschia bracelet set

Sometime back I had purchased  some fuschia colored beads (or bright rose pink color as some people refer to it). Was planning to use it as spacers in a necklace set, but on a whim ended up making this very simple bracelet set with it. Used some daisy spacers and small gold spacers to provide some contrast. Since both the beads and the spacers are quite small this bracelet had a very delicate feel to it.

Natural Green jade bead necklace set

Used a combination of green jade rice beads, gold bicone spacers, golden daisy spacers and black rondelle beads in this necklace set. This is one of the rare instances when I made a complete set, with a matching bracelet too :)

Golden pearl beads and Acrylic red bead necklace set

Pearl beads are so pretty that making something with them is always a pleasure. This time I combined golden teardrop shaped pearl beads with red crystal rondelle beads, some crystal spacers and used red acrylic beads  as a pendant and also in the matching earrings.

Here is the picture of the matching earrings.......

Red rondelle necklace with pendant

Used a combination of red rondelle crystals in a deep red color, with contrasting spacers and a rhinestone pendant. It has a very ethnic look  and goes pretty well with any Indian dress/ saris :) I've taken a picture of it at an angle because I wanted to try and show how the beads and spacers look and a picture from the top was just not able to show how this necklace looks close up :)

Teal, yellow and golden brown crystal bracelet set

This is the first time I attempted a two strand bracelet with the colors of teal, yellow and golden brown crystal bead. I also used large golden bead spacers to join the two strands at different points to give it this shape. The matching earrings are simple single strand with all the colors of the bracelet.

Red crystal and peridot green necklace set

A classic combination of bright red beads, and peridot green beads seperated by rhinestone spacers. For the first time I used a large bead for a pendant too and quite liked the effect it gave this necklace :) The matching earrings are seen in the picture below

Here's the picture of the earrings I mentioned above.....

Yellow and Red rondelle crystal earrings

This is a classic combination of  soft yellow crystals and red rondelle crystals that I used in this pair of earrings. Kept the design simple and basic so that the beauty of the crystals can shine through. The picture I took does not quite do justice to these earrings, they are definitely way prettier than it appears in this pic :)
